What kind of brunch person are you?
Brunch is a deeply personal ritual. Some lean savory. Others prefer to reach for something sweet first thing. And others…

Why Fotini Bakery House is worth a visit in Omodos
Some places in Omodos are more than a quick coffee break. Fotini Bakery House is one of them.
You can come for coffee, brunch, and a bag of traditional arkatena to take home. But if you stay a little longer, you start to see why this place feels different. Fotini Bakery House isn’t just selling one of Omodos’ best-known products. It’s keeping a family tradition alive.
The story goes back to 1935. But what matters more is that it never became just history. For the family behind it, arkatena is memory as much as product. It’s part of childhood, tied to the smell of chickpeas, anise, and bread baking in the oven.
Today, Mrs Stavroula and her sons Yiannis and Andreas keep their great-grandmother Eleni’s legacy going, bringing a piece of old Omodos to the table in a way that feels very much alive.
What you’ll find here? Part bakery, part café, and easy to fit into an Omodos walkaround:
Stay for the workshop
Fotini Bakery House also hosts arkatena workshops every Saturday, with private sessions available for groups of up to 12 on other days. You’ll learn the story, see the process, try it yourself, and finish with fresh arkatena fresh from the oven.
Simple, hands-on, and grounded in local tradition.
So come for the coffee, pick up your arkatena. But if time allows, stay. This is Omodos at its most authentic.
