The Story behind TriPy

Some of my earliest memories were made in the mountains of Cyprus.

I grew up in Kyperounda village where life was measured differently. I remember winter evenings filled with the smell of wood burning in the fireplace. Mornings that began with birdsong on our veranda. The mountain opposite our kitchen window that became a part of our everyday life. I still remember the smell of rain on the earth, the conversations that took place in the middle of the road, the endless games outside until the sun goes down with my brother, the local coffee shop where everyone knew each other and the family-run businesses that gave each village its character. This is my home.

The Problem 

Over the years, I watched villages like mine slowly lose their visibility. Not the places themselves; the taverns, parks, cafés and shops are still there. But, yet so many people never know they exist.

I experienced this personally. Trying to find somewhere to eat, to sit for a coffee, or simply discover a place in a village just a few minutes away became harder than it should be. Information was scattered, outdated, or altogether missing. I would switch between search engines, social media, recommendations from friends, and screenshots I never revisited. And still, I was unsure where to go. 

I kept coming back to the same question: how can places like this remain so hard to find? 

The Solution

TriPy began as an answer to that question. 

It was built from a love for Cyprus villages and the people who keep them alive. More than that, it was built on a simple belief: when a place has value, it should be visible. 

TriPy connects people to real, local experiences while giving small businesses the visibility they deserve. It brings together what is currently fragmented, and makes it usable. 

This isn't just a platform or a mobile web app. It's a mission.

A mission to make discovering Cyprus villages straightforward. 

To help people explore beyond the city perimeters.
