Makris Restaurant

Located on the road from Limassol toward the Troodos Mountains by way of Platres, Makris Restaurant has long been a familiar stop for people heading uphill. It has been open for more than 50 years and is now in its third generation, run by Anna Maria and Christos, a local couple raising their family in Moniatis. Tall pines surround the space, as it shifts easily with the seasons, from the open veranda and terrace in summer, to the fireplace for the colder months. Known for traditional ‘mageirefta’ dishes based on grandma’s recipes and local ingredients, Makris also hosts christenings, birthdays, and larger gatherings throughout the year.
