There’s something extra to celebrate at this year’s Apple Festival in Kyperounda.
On Sunday 11 October, the village will receive the Golden Apple 2026 (La Pomme d’Or), an international tourism award presented by FIJET, the International Federation of Journalists and Travel Writers. Commonly known as the ‘Oscar of Tourism,’ this award recognizes destinations for their efforts to promote tourism while preserving cultural heritage and supporting sustainable development.
Kyperounda’s nomination was put forward by the Cyprus Association of Tourism Writers and Journalists, together with the Kyperounda Community Council and the Troodos Tourism Board. It’s a wonderful recognition for a village that has stayed closely connected to its traditions while continuing to develop as a destination.
